British Film 2025 release

If you like Ken Loach’s social commentary films, you will love Lollipop. Daisy-May Hudson’s film is, in my opinion, a masterpiece. Molly has been in prison and her 2 kids are being looked after by her drunken mother who is unable to cope. They are taken into care and Molly desperately wants them back on her release. Molly has no money and no home. She loses them to social services again when they find out that she is living with them in a tent. Molly has an old friend with one child who is of African descent and a single mother herself. This relationship grows and grows as the film develops into a totally life-affirming ending. Go and see it.
